Finnish extreme metal unit i Helvete have revealed Päätösmatka, the third and final preview single from their forthcoming third studio album, Halla. The new track incorporates violin, piano, vibraphone, and layered choir arrangements alongside the group’s core foundation of melodic black and death metal.

The upcoming full-length functions as a concept album focused on historical survival against severe environmental harshness, taking its title from the Finnish phenomenon and mythological figure representing field-destroying frost. Visually and musically, the material draws heavy influence from the late 19th and early 20th-century paintings of Finnish symbolist artist Hugo Simberg.

The single follows previous promotional track Nälkätalvi, continuing the rollout for the new record. Halla will serve as the band’s third full-length offering, expanding on the progressive instrumentation introduced in their earlier catalog.

Päätösmatka is out now, ahead of the album’s release next month.

Halla drops November 6th.
