Extreme-metal outfit Metaladian erupt with a torrent of ferocious bloodshed, chaos, and power in Deaditation, the dizzying title track from their upcoming debut album, out this Canada Day, July 1st. Marking the culmination of over twenty years of composing and refining by mastermind Andrew Brophy, the single serves as a fierce introduction to the band, offering a masterclass in progressive death metal, fusing classical-influenced ambition with a brutal, multi-vocal assault.

On the track’s unique three-stage structure of plateau, ascension, and descent, Brophy shares:

“The interplay between vocalists is quick, dizzying and hypnotizingโ€ฆ the music is incrementally and constantly gaining momentum, driving the track to a spiralling frenzy by the final descent.”

Lyrically, the single paints a blackened world where victims reclaim power through psychic retaliation, forcing abusers to feel their inflicted pain 100,000 fold. It is extreme metal with an entirely meticulous, spiraling design.

A foreboding darkness awaits in Deaditation. A haunting, enveloping atmosphere of chromatic bass lines, droning harmonies, and a tribal drum solo swells and hurriedly subsides as the pace increases and intensity rises through subtle tempo shifts. As the technical heaviness ebbs and flows through structured chaos, its ferocious brutality leaves absolutely nothing in its wake.
