Ecuadorian progressive metal trio Minipony have released their third studio album, Detach, through Subsound Records.

Drawing from progressive metal, mathcore and djent, the record combines knotty rhythms, crushing low-end grooves and angular riffing with electronic textures and subtle Latin influences. Guttural vocals sit at the centre of the band’s tightly controlled assault, giving the album plenty of weight without sacrificing its technical precision.

Detach was recorded at Borgo 41 Studio in Lumbisí, Ecuador, by Amadeus Galiano before being mixed by Jamie Uertz, best known for his work on Gojira’s Magma. The production keeps the dense arrangements clear, allowing the intricate musicianship to breathe while retaining the album’s heaviness.

For listeners with a taste for progressive metal that balances technical complexity with punishing grooves, Detach marks another confident step forward for Minipony.
