London-based metal band Negative Frame will release their debut studio album, Break The Ice, on August 7th, through Bloodblast. The band has issued Cut Throat as the lead single.

Vocalist Kesari Gorin wrote the song in memory of his close friends, Charlie and Zaiga, who died together. The writing focuses on the long-term experience of grief, moving from initial feelings of hostility and anger toward eventual empathy and acceptance.

The rest of the record draws from the five-piece band’s shared upbringing in North London, addressing experiences with isolation, addiction, and personal adversity. The songs pair these dark themes with a message of resilience, advocating for the release of trauma and a rejection of internal hatred.
