Nicky Murphy’s vampire mockumentary I Love Paris has won the Golden Monster for Best Feature Film at Melbourne’s Monster Fest following its Australian premiere.

It’s the latest award in a busy festival run for the blood-soaked dark comedy. Since its July debut at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival, where it took the Gold Audience Award, the film has scooped the inaugural Queer Urn at Vienna’s SLASH Film Festival and screened at Sitges.

I Love Paris opens the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival on October 15 across three screens. The launch at the MUBI Lounge includes a live performance from lead actor Aminata Thiboult, who performs under the stage name Calamity. Both Thiboult and Murphy will also attend.

The film heads to Toronto After Dark later this week.
