Chicago Metal group Repentance has revealed details for their third full-length studio album, Retaliate, which is scheduled to arrive on July 17th, through Noble Demon. To coincide with the announcement, the band has released the title track as a lead single, signaling a move toward a more concentrated and aggressive sound.

Vocalist Adam Gilley describes the new single as a high-intensity track designed to hit with immediate impact, characterized by its uncompromising pace and heavy hooks.

The band was established in 2018 by guitarist Shaun Glass, formerly of Soil and Dirge Within. Since their debut, the Chicago-based outfit has become a staple of the modern metal scene, known for blending technical thrash precision with groove-heavy riffing. Their rising profile has seen them perform alongside major genre acts including Trivium, Jinjer, and DevilDriver.

After the release of their 2020 debut, God For A Day, the band signed with the German label Noble Demon. This transition led to the 2021 ep Volume I – Reborn, which marked Gilley’s introduction as vocalist. Their 2023 follow-up, The Process of Human Demise, featured high-profile guest appearances from Milo Silvestro of Fear Factory and Corey Beaulieu of Trivium.

For the new record, the band returned to Accelerated Sound to work with producer Alex Lackner, while mixing was handled by Ari Mihalopoulos at Inner Light Studio. This production team aims to balance the group’s established sonic identity with their most punishing material to date, maintaining their foundational intensity while refining their melodic and rhythmic hooks.
