San Diego five-piece Cascade Effect have released a video for their new single, Rogue Wave, marking the first preview of their upcoming full-length, The Weight of Nothingness.

Fresh off a spot at Wacken Open Air via the festival’s Metal Battle USA contest, the band’s latest offering attempts to bridge modern deathcore, groove metal, and big melodic hooks. Directed by Oz Riveros, the accompanying clip sees the band getting blasted with water jets while home-movie footage plays behind them, a visual backdrop meant to contrast human connection against the existential dread of modern digital overstimulation, algorithms, and getting older.

Rogue Wave serves as the first of three music videos scheduled to push the release of the new album.

The Weight of Nothingness drops January 8th, 2027 via Eclipse Records.
