Cuban-formed, Swiss-based death-doom outfit Sectarium have released their second studio album, Mud Teeth.

Originating in Cubaโ€™s underground extreme metal scene in the early 1990s before relocating to Switzerland, the band is led by founding member Oliva alongside vocalist and guitarist Doomslayer. Across nine tracks, the record delivers an organic brand of death-doom that entirely bypasses keyboards and artificial atmospheres in favor of harsh, uncompromising guitars and layered vocal arrangements.

Lyrically, the album digs into ancient pagan cults, forgotten deities, and distorted echoes of biblical and Babylonian mythology. As founding member Oliva explains:

“With Mud Teeth, we wanted to carve sound out of ice and breath out of mud. These songs are rituals, moments where winter mythology, ecstatic darkness, and raw instinct collide.”

Decades after their initial formation, Sectarium continue to operate far outside modern trends, resulting in a dark, unrelenting descent into the mire.

Mud Teeth is out now.
