If you thought UK sludge-doom outfit Sea Bastard were dead and buried, you’d almost have been right. Formed back in 2011, the band dropped their self-titled debut in 2012, followed hot on its heels by 2013โs Scabrous, earned their stripes touring alongside the likes of Primitive Man and Witchsorrow, and then vanished into the void after a couple of split releases in the mid-2010s.
They went dark to focus on other projects, only dragging themselves back together in 2021 after a friend facing a terminal illness asked them to play. Now, after five long years of silence since that reunion, they’re finally ready to unleash their third album, Cyclopean, on October 30th via Road To Masochist.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Paul ‘Win’ Winstanley (Code, Grave Lines), Cyclopean promises the exact brand of slow-moving, soul-crushing misery Sea Bastard made their name on, weighing you down with cavernous riffs, gnarled vocals, and absolute zero light at the end of the tunnel. Guitarist Oliver ‘Irongiant’ Hill handled the artwork, making sure the visual package matches the sheer desolation inside.
