Somethingโ€™s brewing out of County Cork, and I think it might be evil.

Irelandโ€™s Soothsayer have officially signed with Apocalyptic Witchcraft, locking in a partnership that feels less like a business move and more like two entities realising theyโ€™ve been circling each other for years.

Active since 2013, Soothsayer have built their name the long way through EPs, a split, a live record, and their full-length Echoes Of The Earth, all stitched together with a sound that leans into atmospheric doom and sludge without smoothing out the edges. Itโ€™s heavy, patient, and not particularly interested in being easy to digest.

Their track record speaks for itself. The band have taken their live set to stages like Bloodstock Open Air and Gothoom Festival, shared space with acts such as Alcest and Bell Witch, and pulled in guest appearances from names including Dave Ingram, Paul Catten, and Eugene Robinson. Not exactly a rรฉsumรฉ built by accident.

On the label side, Apocalyptic Witchcraft, helmed by Conor Droney, has carved out a reputation for backing artists that donโ€™t fit neatly into boxes, which makes this pairing feel like it was always going to happen eventually. Droney described Soothsayer as one of the standout acts in Irelandโ€™s underground, pointing to the bandโ€™s potential to reach a wider audience under the labelโ€™s banner.

The band echoed that sentiment, calling the move an honour and noting theyโ€™ve followed the labelโ€™s output for year, basically confirming this isnโ€™t a random hookup, itโ€™s been on the radar for a while.

No release details just yet, but if this marriage made in hell does what it looks like it might, expect something heavy, doom laden, and probably not suitable for casual listening.
