Finnish Extreme Metal force Torchia have officially released their fourth studio album, They Are Born Under Rules of the Darkness, via Rockshots Records. The release marks the final stage of a campaign that has seen the band rise as one of the most intriguing names in the modern European extreme scene, following the strong international reception of singles like Stygian Waters, Nekromanteion, and Hellmouth.

Hailing from Tampere, the band has spent years honing a specific identity that blends Thrash- influenced Melodic Death Metal with blackened atmospheres and gothic horror aesthetics. On this new record, the group fully realizes a cursed, 19th-century narrative world filled with occult rituals, supernatural entities, and infernal imagery. This conceptual shift is supported by the addition of orchestral grandeur and more expansive, narrative-driven songwriting.

Produced and mixed by Janne Saksa and mastered by the renowned Dan Swanö, the album achieves a broader sonic dimension without losing the aggressive, guitar-heavy foundation that defines the band. According to the group, the goal was to strike a balance between technical aggression and memorable songwriting, allowing the darker soundscapes to support the vivid storytelling of the lyrics.

The band describes the record as their most realized vision to date, where strange tales of gothic horror come alive within a shadowed historical setting. By combining crushing riffs and technical intensity with a cinematic atmosphere, Torchia has delivered an ambitious work that expands their signature sound into more atmospheric and dark territories.
