Why Should I, the heavy metal duo comprised of guitarist Mark Lamb and drummer Scott Sprague, have officially released their debut album, Turn It Off.

Drawing on deep underground roots from past bands like Scorched-Earth Policy, Acid King, Fought Upon Earth, Sin Nombre, Scvmlot, and Die Hard, Lamb and Sprague have channeled years of dedication into a purely riff-driven instrumental project.

To mark the release, the band has dropped a new video for the album track AxeFoot, capturing the raw sweat and volume of the basement rehearsal space where the record was forged.

Built entirely on the philosophy that heavy metal lives and dies by powerful riffs and heavy beats, Turn It Off marries the kinetic force of thrash with the technical musicianship of classic metal. Instrumental tracks like AxeFoot lean heavily into a gritty, high-energy delivery that proves a song doesn’t need vocals to tell its story. As noted in a recent review of the album by Ever Metal, instrumental tracks offer listeners the space to invent their own narratives.

Turn It Off is available now.
