Director Alison-Eve Hammersley is taking her feature debut to Beyond Fest this October with Erie, a late-nineties found footage piece set during the paranoid run-up to Y2K.

Following her shorts Fragile.com and You’ll Only Have Each Other, Hammersley’s first feature gets its first screening on October 1st at the Los Feliz 3 Theatre in Los Angeles as part of Beyond Fest, before moving on to the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival later in the month.

Co-written with J. Batzli, the film drops us into Pennsylvania in the autumn of 1999. Siblings Stella (Carly Stewart) and Oscar (Grant Crater) head back to their childhood home with a camcorder to figure out why a string of people in town keep killing themselves, including their sister. Predictably, digging through local gossip, conspiracy theories, and family secrets pulls them straight into something much uglier.

The production side includes George Henry Horton (Dark Hollow, Strawstalker), specialty character designer Matt Gossen, and a cast featuring Ryan Garcia (NOPE).

Hammersley, the writers, and the main cast will all be sticking around for a Q&A after the LA screening.
