I donโt like video game adaptations. I mean, unless they’re done by Uwe Boll. But as a rule I avoid this sorts of things like the plague. Resident Evil, Silent Hill, whatever the fuck Borderlands was, these are the kinds of cinematic catastrophes that commint the cardinal sin of not even being so bad that they’re entertaining. They’re just shit and have put me off of video game movies for life.
Or so I thought, but it seems that the new Shudder trailer for The Mortuary Assistant has other ideas.
Now, I’ve never played the game (which may or may not be a benefit), but from this single trailer alone I fully expect The Mortuary Assistant to be one hell of a demonic possession extravaganza, full of jump scares, horrible demon bastards, and more terrifying dead old ladies than you could shake a pension book at.
Directed by Jeremiah Kipp, written by Tracee Beebe and Brian Clarke, and staring Willa Holland, Paul Sparks, Mark Steger, John Adams, Keena Ferguson Frasier, Emily Bennett, and Shelly Gibson, The Mortuary Assistant will hit our screens on March 27th.
